Our real estate team is experienced in negotiating and closing real estate transactions of all sizes and kinds, from a routine residential sale to a sophisticated and complex multi-state commercial property sale and lending transaction. We also assist land development clients with filings and disclosures required by the Interstate Land Sales Full Disclosure Act.

Leasing – Whitaker Chalk attorneys represent landlords and tenants in the leasing of office, retail, manufacturing, industrial and warehouse space, sites for communication towers and equipment, and for oil, gas and mineral properties.

Development and Construction – Whitaker Chalk assists clients with the development, construction, and marketing of real estate projects such as golf course, residential and mixed use developments, resort condominium and townhouse projects, residential subdivisions, apartment complexes, industrial parks, retail shopping centers, hospitals and medical facilities, office buildings, and warehouse facilities.

Entity Selection and Representation – Whitaker Chalk advises and assists clients with the selection and organization of the appropriate legal structure or entity for handling a real estate project. We are experienced in the formation and representation of condominium and property owner associations and various types of special utility districts.

Financing – Whitaker Chalk represents borrowers and lenders in interim and permanent financing transactions secured by real estate assets. We also provide legal services in foreclosure proceedings and on mechanic’s, contractor’s, and materialman’s liens and bonds.

Agreements – Whitaker Chalk assists in the negotiation and preparation of agreements with design and construction professionals and with brokers, surveyors, environmental consultants, lenders, managers, and users. Title Insurance – Whitaker Chalk handles real estate closings as approved counsel for several title insurance companies and works with many title companies to obtain appropriate title insurance for our clients. One of our real estate attorneys also holds an Escrow Officer License from the Texas Department of Insurance.
