Thomas Brandon has extensive experience in employment law litigation and litigation prevention primarily on behalf of employers, which includes reviewing and updating policies and procedures, investigating allegations of discrimination, and representation in litigation on matters involving any aspect of the employment relationship. Additionally, has employment law experience in representing graduate school educational institution and providing counsel to municipalities, non-profits, school boards, as well as individuals challenging dismissals or grievances in school board setting. Additionally, extensive background (in excess of 25 years) of representation of religious and non-profit organizations and churches on matters involving tax issues, employment issues, structure, funding, and litigation. Active mediation and arbitration practice having served in more than 50 mediations/arbitration cases over the last 15 years on matters ranging from church splits, personal injury, employment law issues, domestic relations, to patent and trademark issues.

Civic Activities
  • Was elected and served for two years as the Chairperson of the National Interreligious Legal Task Force for Human Rights, begun in 1981 and based in Chicago, with a specific focus on pursuing legal remedies in the area of human rights for those in Eastern Europe, Russia and China.
  • Served as liaison on behalf of the Christian Legal Society to the Jewish community by working closely with the American Jewish Committee and the American Jewish Congress in Chicago.
  • Since 1985 have served as Chairman of the Board of the Christian Conciliation Service of Dallas/Fort Worth.
  • Authored New Religions, Conversions and Deprogramming: New Frontiers of Religious Liberty, a monograph published in 1982 by the Christian Legal Society.
  • Co-authored Church Discipline in the Courts released in January, 1987 by Tyndale Publishers.
  • Co-authored Preventing a Church Split with Gene Edwards which was released by Christian Books Publishing House in August, 1987.
