Ms. Knight is an accomplished, energetic senior legal executive with diverse business and legal experience. Since joining Whitaker Chalk, Ms. Knight has advised clients on major, transactional, regulatory, marketing, and intellectual property issues. Her current clients are in the technology, entertainment, pharmaceutical, medical device, healthcare and life sciences Industry.

Prior to joining Whitaker Chalk, Kathleen was Vice President, Deputy General Counsel of Alcon Inc. She has over 23 years experience in the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Consumer Product areas. She worked on matters involving all stages of the pharmaceutical product life cycle, from product development and approval to manufacturing, sales, marketing and distribution.

Ms. Knight focuses her practice in several areas:

Litigation. Management, preparation and trial of Intellectual Property, Commercial and Product Liability Litigation.

Dispute Resolution. Dispute resolution including mediation, arbitration, and litigation avoidance.

Major Strategic Transaction. Negotiating, drafting, conducting the due diligence and closing Acquisitions, Joint Ventures, Alliances and Intellectual Property Transactions.

Supplemental Special Counsel. Serving as supplemental counsel for companies that have in-house counsel but have a specialized project or a temporary need for additional capacity that does not warrant the addition of another full time attorney.

Outsourced General Counsel. Serving as outside General Counsel for companies and institutions and advising them on all issues affecting their business. This gives clients the advantage of having access to a senior legal advisor with broad in depth business and legal experience and familiarity with their business without the cost of maintaining an in house legal staff. It provides the company with proactive representation, identifying risks before they become a liability and facilitating the transaction of business.

• Current active member of the HBS Health Industry Alumni Association, focusing on relationship among Universities, Government and Private Enterprise. Special Interest in monetizing Biotechnology and Nanotechnology developments.
• Served on the Executive Committee, the Public Relations Committee and as Treasurer for the Board of Directors of the Lighthouse for The Blind.
