Bruce L. James has had over 40 years experience as lead trial and appellate counsel in complex litigation and arbitration matters. He started his career in labor and employment law in Houston representing management in disputes involving union recognition, contract negotiations, unfair labor practices, wrongful termination matters, employment discrimination and harassment, as well as libel/slander and defamation cases arising out of the employment relationship. He has represented clients in the major metropolitan areas of Houston, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, and Fort Worth. His labor practice has included successful representation of companies charged with violations of OSHA as well as participating in the inspections of various company facilities (wall-to-wall inspections as well as under the Special Emphasis Programs). He has represented clients in administrative matters before the NLRB, OSHA, EEOC and TCHR.
Mr. James is also heavily involved in commercial litigation matters that have included representing manufacturers and component parts suppliers in the aviation industry. While in Corpus Christi, he represented members of the petro chemical industry in toxic exposure cases, anti-trust claims as well as ad valorem tax evaluation matters in both state and federal courts. Mr. James remains an accomplished aviator, advocate for general aviation and continues representing clients with aviation business interests.
