    Administrative Law

Government regulations at all levels play an increasingly vital role in our personal, business, professional, and economic lives. From education to the public financing of businesses, from land use to taxes, from employment and work place discrimination to the protection of intellectual property, and from health care to utilities to professional services, government rules and regulations direct and limit individuals and businesses.

Regulatory administrative laws apply to public officials and public agencies on all levels of Government (local, state & federal). Administrative law is different from legislative or judicial authority in that it includes the power to create rules and regulations based on the statutes that legislative authorities put into effect. These bodies also have the power to grant licenses and permits, begin investigations and provide remedies to complaints, oversee the conduct of the business of government and issue orders to parties to comply with certain rules or laws. Administrative law judges are government officials who act under quasi-judicial powers in conducting hearings, issuing findings of fact and issuing orders of compliance.

Whitaker Chalk attorneys represent clients before federal, state and local agencies and assist clients in structuring policies and business practices that comply with regulatory requirements.
